Ingredients:
- 6 apples (McIntosh or a mix)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 5 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 3/4 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- Harbor Sweets Sea Salt Caramel Sauce
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a tube pan. Peel, core and chop apples into 1-inch chunks and toss with 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 5 tablespoons of sugar. Set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk oil, orange juice, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix wet ingredients into dry; scraping down bowl to make sure ingredients are well incorporated. Pour half of batter into prepared pan. Spread half of apples (and their juices) over it. Pour remaining batter over apples and arrange the remaining apples on top. Bake for about 1.5 hours or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before running a knife between cake and pan and unmolding onto platter. Enjoy with a drizzle of warmed Harbor Sweets Sea Salt Caramel Sauce!
